Restrain your books with style! These bookends are designed using mathematic principles found in Gothic arches and flying buttresses of the famed European cathedrals. The smaller one uses the Quinto Acuto curve, famously used for the dome of the cathedral in Florence Italy. The taller one uses an Ogive curve, typically seen over entrances and at the tops of flying buttresses. The purity of these curves reminds me of Brancusi sculptures as well. Laminated wood, with lead internal weight for heft, and bottom lined with cork. Shown here in Narra ( Ogive ) and Cherry ( Quinto Acuto ).
